What is Italian Citizenship? It is the condition of a person to whom Italy recognizes civil and political rights.
How can you get it? There are various ways, but the main ones are:
- "ius sanguinis", by birth from at least one Italian citizen parent;
- Naturalization, after 10 years of legal residence in Italy (for non-EU citizens) and in the absence of criminal records;
- Marriage, after 2 years (or 1 year, in the presence of children) of residence from the date of marriage with an Italian citizen;
--- In 2016 120,000 foreigners obtained Italian citizenship ---
